POVERTY ALLEVIATION

Zambia faces one of the highest levels of poverty and inequality globally, with more than 58% of its 16.6 million people earning less than the international poverty line of $1.90 per day. The majority of those affected live in rural areas. The pervasive poverty has resulted in a significant number of children and young women living on the streets.
At LiFo, we are committed to alleviating poverty through direct support and proactive programs aimed at improving the lives of the most vulnerable. Our efforts include:

Provision of Essentials
We work tirelessly to support children and young adults living on the streets, as well as those in vulnerable homes and shelters. LiFo provides food, clothes, groceries, and other necessities such as sanitary towels, toothbrushes, bathing towels, books, and pens. By addressing these immediate needs, we aim to improve their quality of life and offer them a sense of dignity and stability.

Mentorship Programs
Recognizing that lasting change comes from within, we conduct mentorship programs designed to guide children in making better decisions in their everyday lives. These programs offer support, education, and inspiration, helping young people to envision and work towards a brighter future.

Entrepreneurship Training
Recognizing the potential for further empowerment, we have introduced entrepreneurship training for women in the most climate change-vulnerable areas. This initiative aims to foster economic resilience and independence, enabling women to develop and manage their own businesses. At LiFo, we are dedicated to creating a world where poverty does not hinder potential, and where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Through our comprehensive approach, we strive to alleviate poverty, uphold human rights, and build a more just and equitable society.
