Promoting Climate Action through Creative Recycling Initiatives
In alignment with our third pillar, Climate Action, Limitless Foundation partnered with Sustainable
Footsteps, a highly respected organization dedicated to combating pollution through responsible plastic
disposal. On May 26th, 2023, we hosted an impactful Awareness Raising event called "Creative Day" at
Fountain of Hope in Kamwala.
The primary goal of this event was to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and highlight the crucial role
of recycling plastic bottles. With the participation of 130 enthusiastic individuals, the training session taught attendees
how to create pencil cases from plastic bottles. This engaging and informative experience not only provided practical
skills but also resulted in useful items for schoolchildren.
By the end of the training, an impressive 70% of participants successfully crafted their own pencil cases and
gained a deeper understanding of the importance of recycling plastic bottles and other plastics. The timing of our event
coincided with global initiatives, particularly the 2023 Environment Day theme, "Solutions to Plastic
Pollution." Our efforts were in harmony with the worldwide campaign #BeatPlasticPollution.
This initiative exemplifies our commitment to climate action, promoting environmental sustainability
through innovative and educational approaches. At Limitless Foundation, we believe in empowering
communities to make a tangible difference in the fight against plastic pollution, contributing to
a healthier planet for future generations.
